Coronavirus Operational Adjustments at Tombstone Trading Company
March 18, 2020 - Coronavirus, COVID-19, General News, Press Release
This is a transcript of a press release that Tombstone Trading Company released in regards to our response to the Coronavirus outbreak.
Everything we are doing and will do is intended to keep our employees and customers safe and healthy. We also need to bear in mind guidelines put in place by the Commonwealth of MA and the CDC to protect the health of everyone involved.
With those points in mind, we are instituting the following action plans here at Tombstone Trading Company:
We are temporarily changing our hours to the following:
From 11:00 – 3:00 we will be appointment only. To request an appointment, call (508) 867-6800.
From 3:00 – 5:00 we will be open to the public but there will be a limit of no more than 10 people in the shop at any one time. During this time, we will strongly encourage “social distancing” as much as possible.
Customers looking to sell guns will be by appointment only. This will allow us to maintain the proper occupancy levels in the shop.
We will be working to enhance our website to include our inventory and pricing. This will allow customers to view what we have in stock prior to coming in to the shop for their appointment or during the 3:00 – 5:00 time period.
We will be working on getting a significant portion of our inventory onto our Gunbroker page, so customers will be able to go online and bid on items that will be available for pickup in the shop, by appointment.
We can process gift card orders over the phone and mail those cards to you or the intended recipient.
Now to address the health safety steps we are taking here in the shop:
During this time, the only people allowed in the shop will be those with a valid MA LTC/FID card and only the purchaser.
No one under the age of 18 will be allowed in the shop at any time.
We will be setting up designated paperwork areas for those filling out the required 4473 background check. These areas will be a minimum of 6’ from other customers and will be sanitized between customers. Every customer will receive a new pen to fill out the paperwork and will take that pen with them when they leave.
You may also see us wearing gloves while dealing with paperwork and customers, please do not take that personally but we have to be sure to protect our staff as well.
We are taking these steps to ensure a couple things. First, and I know I’ve said it multiple times, is to keep everyone as safe as possible from contracting the virus. Additionally, we truly believe that being able to protect oneself and your family adds a sense of calm and reason to a scenario that is already pretty darn chaotic. It’s our passion.
Please understand that these policies may have to change quickly based on circumstances beyond our control. Once life returns to a regular routine, we will return to normal business hours and operations. Any changes to these policies will be announced by 10:00am of the day they take effect.
Thanks for everything you all do for us and we look forward to adapting and serving you in the near future.
